Part 3: Tested & Real-World Performance
(What Properties Make a Tire Puncture-Resistant)
Overview of Military Blast-Resistant Tires:
Designed exclusively for military applications, these are special tires with puncture resistance and blast & impact resistance capabilities.
ABRATTM is a patented process that incorporates an inner protective bladder into tires filled with a ATLAPEX flatproofing product such as the ballistic resilient RePneuTVTM.
Tested and Proven
In comparative testing at the Nevada Automotive Test Center(NATC),tires filled with RePneuTVTM (Tactical Vehicle) outperformed the competition. Spike and ballistic testing showed:
■ The competitive product failed in the first lap of the test course after running over the spike strips.
■ ABRAT tires continued running and never failed.
Additional tests at an independant lab showed:
■ ABRAT ran for more than 500 miles with no failure after all air was removed from the tire assembly.
■ ABRAT tires ran 30 miles at 30 mph with a 2000 Ib payload, even after being exposed to small arms fire-7.62×54R.*
Durability is another cornerstone of the ATLAPEX 340-457, built to withstand the extreme conditions that BTR60, BTR70, and BTR80 vehicles regularly face. Operations involving these vehicles often expose tires to sharp rocks, debris, heavy loads, and constant wear, making durability a non-negotiable requirement. To meet this demand, ATLAPEX has crafted the 340-457 with a robust construction and reinforced sidewalls, engineered to resist punctures, cuts, and abrasions that would render ordinary tires useless.
ATLAPEX’s advantages lie in:
l High speed & durability,
l Strong puncture resistance,
l Heat & cold resistance,
l Stable tread deformation for reliable traction.
